May Peace Guide his Steps

A prayer for President Bush 9-18-01

Father God, I pray, that the Prince of Peace who is the commander over the armies of Heaven be his advocate and his council, that he will let that inner peace within his heart guide his steps, that he would be strong and steadfast and sure.

Though all of the council around him would say, “No, this is the way to go.” God, may he be bold enough to say, “I’m not going to listen unless there is peace; I’m not going to move without peace.”

God, may the economy and money and the trade situations not dictate his actions. May the words within the Pentagon not dictate his actions and the Chiefs of Staff no matter how wise they may be. There is no one wiser than the Almighty God.

So, Lord, I believe you will speak to him in the night hour even as you spoke to Lincoln as he walked those very halls, that you’ll give him dreams. And though he’s new to Washington, he’s not new to hearing from you. May peace guide his steps and the Lord go with him and go before him. In Jesus Name.
